Steeped in tradition, dedication, hard work, character building and academic excellence the Packer Football Program dates back to 1913. Beginning in the fall of 1978, Moultrie High School was consolidated with the other two high schools in Colquitt County, Norman Park and Doerun High Schools, to form what is now known as “Colquitt County High School“. On October 13, 1913, the first Packer football team took the field against Norman Institute. The year 2025 marks the 112th anniversary of Packer Football.
Nearly 112 years later the Packer Football Program remains stronger than ever. With 3 State Championships 1994, 2014, 2015, along with claiming a National Championship in 2015 with the back to back State Championship titles of 2014 and 2015 (30-0 record), the Colquitt County Packers have become a nationally recognized High School Football powerhouse.
Since 1954, when when Mack Tharpe Memorial Stadium was dedicated, the Packers are 317-112-2 at home. Since 2010 Colquitt is 104-15 at home. Since 1963, the Packers are 40-9 in home playoff games at Mack Tharpe Stadium. Since 1937, the Packers are 77-37-1 in playoff games. Since 2009, the Packers have made the playoffs 16 times, advancing to the quarterfinals three times, the semifinals five times, and the State Championship game five times — winning twice.
The Packers compete in region 1 6A within Georgia’s highest public school classification of 6A and are a GHSA member school. Home games are played at Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie, Georgia.
