Colquitt County vs. Thomas County Central | 2026 Football Highlights & Game Recap

August 21, 2026 – Thomasville, GA

The Colquitt County Packers opened the 2026 football season on the road Friday night against Thomas County Central at The Jackets’ Nest in Thomasville, Georgia. The matchup marked the first meeting between the two South Georgia programs since 2012.

Thomas County Central jumped out to an early 14-0 lead before Colquitt County responded with a rushing touchdown from Denim Lewis to cut the deficit to 14-7.

The Yellow Jackets answered with several big plays and began to pull away as the first half continued, taking a 37-7 lead into halftime.

Colquitt continued to compete in the second half and added two more touchdowns, but Thomas County Central maintained control of the game and went on to earn a 57-21 victory.

The season-opening matchup provided the Packers with an early test against one of Georgia’s top high school football programs and an opportunity to evaluate the team as the 2026 schedule gets underway.

The Packers now turn their attention to their home opener against Monroe on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM as Colquitt County looks to bounce back and get into the win column.
