Colquitt Disposes of Trinity Catholic (42-14): Preps for Thomasville

The Colquitt County Packers defeated the Trinity Catholic Titans in their home opener at Mack Tharpe Stadium on Saturday, August 25th (Packer Video Highlights Above). The Titans brought a highly-touted roster from Missouri to do battle with the Packers. In a game of explosive plays, Packer quarterback Jaycee Harden completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 240 yards while connecting with nine different receivers. The Packers gained 129 yards rushing. The defense contained the revered Titan offense much of the evening as well. When the night was over, the Packer defense had 10 sacks.

In a series (Moultrie High) that dates back to 1914, the Colquitt County Packers will host the Thomasville Bulldogs on Friday, August 31st. Both teams are ranked and bring their unbeaten records to clash at Mack Tharpe Stadium. In an interview with the Moultrie Observer, Packer head coach Rush Propst stated “I predict that the crowd Friday night will be the biggest crowd we’ve had here in my 11 years. I don’t know if we’ve had a crowd as big as what we could possibly have.”
