In an eagerly anticipated matchup that one could easily characterize as history in the making, an epic tale of gridiron rivalry ensued on Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium this past Friday night. Colquitt prevailed 24-10 when the final horn sounded and now stand at 2-0 on the season while Valdosta drops to 2-1. (Game Recap Video Above)

In his pregame talk to his players Colquitt head coach Justin Rogers said: “It ain’t about no coach. It ain’t about none of us coaches. We’re just blessed to be a part of your lives. This is your legacy. You’re leaving your mark on the history of this program.”

The game was the 106th rivalry meeting between the teams and resulted in Colquitt’s 31st win. The Packers have now won seven of the last eight meetings in a rivalry that dates back to 1913. With the win Colquitt extended their home win streak to 19 games.

Colquitt heads into Rip Hewes Stadium in Dothan, Alabama this Friday to take on the Dothan Wolves with a 7 PM CST kickoff scheduled.
