Pack Defeats Etowah 34-5, Preps For Round 2 vs. McEachern

The Packers defeated Etowah by a score of 34-5 in Friday’s Round 1 GHSA 7A State Playoff game. The Packers are now 11-0 on the season and are ranked as high as #4 in national polls. (Packer Video Highlights Above)

The Packers will play host to McEachern on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Moultrie, Georgia for round 2 of the GHSA 7A State Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM. While Colquitt defeated McEachern in the first game of the season 41-7 at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, Colquitt’s Coach Propst said he wasn’t necessarily thrilled about playing McEachern a second time this season and on top of that meeting them so early in the playoffs. However he did say that his Packer squad would be prepared and ready come Friday despite what most would characterize as a lackluster and mistake-ridden round 1 win over Etowah.

“It’s not just the team, it’s the fan base as well that we need to show up in a big way and be loud for this upcoming game,” Popst said. “These playoffs and wins are not a given. We need our fans here and behind this team as much now as we ever have,” he added. While McEachern is 8-3 they are coming off a 48-21 victory over Newnan in their round 1 Playoff game and will be looking to redeem themselves Friday night from their loss to the Packers earlier in the season.

This Friday night’s round 2 game is sure to be an exiting one. We’re in the playoffs now and perhaps it’s worth mentioning what should otherwise be obvious… game losers go home for the season while game winners stay alive in the 2018 GHSA 7A State Playoffs in their hunt for the prestigious 7A State Championship title.

At 1 PM on Wednesday all reserve and general admission tickets will go on sale to the general public. Wednesday 1 PM to 4 PM, Thursday – 7:30 AM to 4 PM, and Friday 7:30 AM to 12 PM at Athletic Office.
